Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
Matthew 10:1-10

Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evil spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
Read verses 1. Jesus called his twelve disciples to come to ‘him’. Why was it important that they come to Jesus before being sent out? What did Jesus give them? What can we learn about Jesus? About God’s calling?
Read verses 2-4. Jesus called two sets of brothers. What do you know about Peter and Andrew, and James and John (Matthew 4:18-22)? What do you know about Matthew (Matthew 9:9-13)? What can we learn about the kind of people Jesus usually calls?
3. Read verses 5-10. Who were the disciples to go to? What message did Jesus give them to preach? What were they do remember in giving to others? What were they to take along, and what were they to live behind?
