Where is the King of the Jews?
Matthew 2:1-12
Key verses 2:2
And asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star in the east and have come to worship him.”
Read verses 1-2. Where did the Magi come from? Why did they come all the way to Jerusalem (verse 6)? What can we learn from these Magi (Proverbs 23:23)? What does it mean that Jesus is the King of the Jews (1 Chronicles 17:14)?
Skim through verses 3-8. How did King Herod feel about the birth of the King of the Jews? Did he really want to worship him?
3. Read verses 9-12. When the Magi saw the star again, how did they feel? When the saw the child, what did they do? How can we worship the child Jesus, King of the Jews? What gift can we bring to him?
