IF YOU GO TO THE LEFT, I’LL GO TO THE RIGHT

Genesis 13:1-18
Key Verse: 13:9

Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left."

Read V1-7. Why did a problem arise between Abram and Lot? What does this problem show about God’s blessings?

Read V8-9. How did Abram propose to solve the problem? What does he reveal about himself, his inner character in this proposal? How has his attitude toward material things and people changed since he went to Egypt?

Read V10-13. What did Lot choose? Why? What is significant about the “garden of the Lord” and “the land of Egypt”? What does this move toward Sodom show about him?

Read V14-18. What promise did God give Abram? What does this teach about Abram, about God? How did Abram respond to God’s promise? What does this show about his faith?
