Question

The Parable of the Lost Sheep

Matthew 18:10-14

Key verse 18:14

“In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should be lost.”

Read verse 10.  Why did Jesus warn his disciples “Do not look down on one of these little ones”?  Why might someone look down on a little child?  In the same way, why might someone look down on a humble person?  How does the heavenly Father watch over his little ones?

Read verses 12-13.  In Jesus’ parable, how many sheep did a man own?  How many wandered off?  What did the man do?  What does this parable show about the sheep that wandered off?  What can we learn from the shepherd?

Read verse 14.  What is Jesus’ parable really about?  What can we learn about our Father in heaven?  What will does he have for his lost children?
