The Gospel Is the Power of God for Salvation

The Kingdom Vision is the vision that God's reign fully comes on earth. This vision will ultimately be fulfilled in completion when Jesus returns, but it is also our mission commissioned by the Triune God to preach the gospel and expand the kingdom of God faithfully until then.

Then how can we help realize the Kingdom vision on earth? Apostle Paul makes a confident declaration, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile” (Romans 1:16).

The gospel is God's power that brings salvation to everyone who believes. When we believe and obey this word of God and go to the world and boldly preach the gospel, we can experience the salvation and re-creation of the Holy Spirit and participate in God's Kingdom vision. Kingdom vision begins with preaching the gospel to one person. In fact, after the apostle Paul followed the Macedonian vision to turn to the mission of Europe, he preached the gospel to a woman in Philippi, after which the whole European evangelization began (Acts 16).

When a person transformed by the power of the gospel preaches the gospel to his family, friends, and neighbors, his change can bring about changes in the home, in the community, in the country, and even in the whole world. This is how God still works.

We must first be transformed by the power of the gospel in order to live the Kingdom vision. Then, by preaching the gospel to our family and neighbors, we can also experience their transformation by the power of the gospel.

Born in Seoul, I attended university there, but without direction and meaning in life, I enlisted in the army. While experiencing physical and mental limitations daily, I went to church to escape my troubles for a moment. There, I cried out, "If there is a God, please save me." At that moment, I experienced the power of God who heard my cry.

Afterwards, God's Word became to me sweet as honey, to the point that even after standing guard in the middle of the night, I read the Bible under a bed lamp and found the answers to life I had been looking for. And my life changed completely after I believed in Jesus and was baptized in the military.

After graduating from university, I got a job at a shipping company, but I felt that my life without a mission was meaningless. As I started to study the Bible again at University Bible Fellowship, I became convinced through Romans 1:16 that the gospel is God's power to save the world. Since then, I have held onto a Kingdom vision of God’s gospel spreading to the whole world. The Kingdom vision begins only when each of us experiences the power of the gospel and is transformed by the power of the gospel.

The majority of the Christian population worldwide is not in Europe and North America, but in Latin America, Africa and Asia. We live in an era in which “reverse missions” and “missions from everywhere to everywhere” take place after an era of the preaching of the gospel from Europe and North America to Latin America, Africa, and Asia.

It is no surprise that the European church is losing the power of the gospel and is on the way to secularization. Yet the the third world countries are sending tireless missionaries all over the world, as Samuel Escobar, a world-renowned missiologist from Peru expressed it.

I was called to a college mission and was sent to London, England as a self-supporting missionary through a job in 1993. I had a vision that, through the preaching of the gospel to one university student, the Kingdom of God would come to the universities and society in England. With that vision, I eagerly invited students to Bible study, but for two years no one responded.

At that time, it seemed impossible for Koreans to raise native intellectuals as disciples of Jesus. However, when I challenged myself constantly by believing in the power of the gospel, God enables us to invite an art student to study the Bible. Through the Word of God, he was changed and invited several other friends to study the Bible.

Currently, the native leaders take the leadership and preach the gospel to students. Our vision is that 10,000 native intellectuals will be transformed by the power of the gospel and sing the Hallelujah at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

When the countries that preached the gospel to us are spiritually stagnant, we must preach the gospel to them. Dreaming of their spiritual revival with the power of the gospel is a Kingdom vision that God takes pleasure in.

The world desperately needs the gospel, which is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes. I pray that we can have a Kingdom vision that God's reign will fully come on earth, and participate in the Lord's mission by spreading the gospel.

El Evangelio es el poder de Dios para la salvación. 

La Visión del Reino es la visión de que el reino de Dios vendrá a la tierra por completo. Esta visión finalmente se cumplirá cuando Jesús regrese. Es la misión que la Trinidad de Dios nos comisionó de predicar el evangelio y expandirlo fielmente hasta que Él regrese.

Entonces, ¿cómo podemos realizar la visión del Reino en la Tierra? En Romanos 1:16, el apóstol Pablo declara con confianza: "Porque no me avergüenzo del evangelio, porque es poder de Dios para salvación a todo aquel que cree; al judío primeramente, y también al griego." (Romanos 1:16).

El evangelio es el poder de Dios que trae salvación a todos los que creen en él. Cuando creemos y obedecemos esta palabra de Dios y vamos al mundo y predicamos con valentía el evangelio, podemos experimentar la salvación y la nueva creación del Espíritu Santo y participar en la visión del Reino de Dios. La visión del Reino comienza con la predicación del evangelio a una persona. De hecho, después de que el apóstol Pablo siguió la visión de Macedonia para llegar a evangelizar Europa, él predicó el evangelio a una mujer en Filipos, después de lo cual comenzó la evangelización hacia toda Europa (Hechos 16).

Cuando una persona transformada por el poder del evangelio predica el evangelio a su familia, amigos y vecinos, su cambio puede provocar cambios en el hogar, la comunidad, el país e incluso en todo el mundo. Así es como Dios trabaja todavía .

Primero, debemos ser transformados por el poder del evangelio para vivir la visión del Reino. Luego, al predicar el evangelio a nuestra familia y vecinos, también podemos experimentar su transformación por el poder del evangelio.

Habiendo nacido en Seúl, también estudié en una universidad allí. Pero no tenía dirección ni sentido en la vida, así que me enlisté en el ejército para hacer mi servicio militar. Mientras experimentaba limitaciones físicas y mentales diariamente, fui a una iglesia para escapar de mis problemas por un momento. Allí grité: "Si hay un Dios, por favor sálveme". En ese momento, experimenté el poder de Dios que escuchó mi desesperación.

Después, la Palabra de Dios se volvió dulce para mí, hasta el punto de que incluso después de estar de guardia en medio de la noche, leía la Biblia debajo de una pequeña lámpara. Encontré las respuestas a la vida que había estado buscando. Y mi vida cambió por completo después de creer en Jesús y ser bautizado en el ejército.

Después de graduarme de la universidad, conseguí un trabajo en una compañía naviera, pero sentí que mi vida sin una misión no tenía sentido. Cuando comencé a estudiar la Biblia nuevamente en la Fraternidad Biblica Universitaria (UBF), a través de Romanos 1:16 me convencí de que el evangelio es el poder de Dios para salvar al mundo. Desde entonces, me he aferrado a la visión del Reino de que el evangelio de Dios se extienda por todo el mundo. La visión del Reino comienza solo cuando cada uno de nosotros experimenta el poder del evangelio y es transformado por él.

La mayoría de la población cristiana en todo el mundo no se encuentra en Europa y América del Norte, sino en América Latina, África y Asia. Vivimos en una era en la que “las misiones inversas" y las "misiones de dondequiera adondequiera’” han sido el resultado de la predicación del evangelio desde Europa y América del Norte hacia América Latina, África y Asia.

No nos sorprende que la iglesia europea esté perdiendo el poder del evangelio y esté en camino a la secularización. Sin embargo, “la iglesia Coreana está enviando incansablemente misioneros a todo el mundo”, como lo expresó Samuel Escobar, un misiólogo de renombre mundial de Perú.

Fui llamado a servir la misión universitaria y enviado a Londres, Inglaterra, como misionero autofinanciado en 1993. Tuve la visión de que, a través de la predicación del evangelio a un estudiante universitario británico, el Reino de Dios vendría a las universidades y la sociedad en Inglaterra. Con esa visión, invité apasionadamente a estudiantes universitarios británicos a estudiar la Biblia, pero durante dos años nadie respondió.

En ese momento, parecía imposible para los coreanos levantar intelectuales ingleses como discípulos de Jesús. Sin embargo, a medida que me desafiaba constantemente creyendo en el poder del evangelio, pude invitar a un estudiante inglés de Artes a estudiar la Biblia. A través de la Palabra de Dios, fue cambiado e invitó a otros amigos a estudiar la Biblia.

Actualmente, los líderes ingleses que aprendieron la Biblia a través de mi familia están difundiendo el evangelio a estudiantes universitarios británicos. Nuestra visión es que 10,000 intelectuales ingleses sean transformados por el poder del evangelio y canten Aleluya en el Royal Albert Hall de Londres.

Cuando los países que nos predicaron están espiritualmente estancados, debemos predicarles el evangelio. Soñar con su avivamiento espiritual a través del poder del evangelio es la visión del Reino, la cual complace a Dios.

El mundo necesita desesperadamente el evangelio, que es el poder de Dios que trae salvación a todos los que creen. Oro para que podamos tener la visión de que el reino de Dios vendrá por completo a la Tierra, y participemos en la misión del Señor al difundir el evangelio.
