Samuel and Curie Lee’s Wedding in Köln, Germany

Köln UBF, Germany

January 11, 2013

On Jan 5, 2013, a beautiful wedding ceremony between Dr. Samuel Lee, son of Dr. Abraham and M. Sarah Lee, from Koln and Curie Lee, Jr., daughter of M. Young and Curie Lee, from Chicago UBF was held at the Köln Center. This marriage was very meaningful for a few reasons. It was the first wedding of second gens held in Köln UBF center. Also, Koln is where the German and European UBF first started more than 40 years ago.

Walter Nett delivered his wedding address, “Love One Another” based on John 13:34-35: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”  His message was clear, deep and full of joy. In his message, Walter Nett mentioned that Curie was a mission-minded woman and wants to practice the love of God in her marriage. Samuel is known as a faithful man and good influence to others. Walter Nett encourged them to love each other, showing a good example of the love of Jesus. Love is not conditional as in this world,  ‘give and take,’ but to give unconditionally. True love is to love not only those who love us, but to love those who are not so lovely too. True love is to ask pardon first. Most of all, true love is to love as Jesus loved.

The father of the bride, Young Lee, thanked God for sending Curie Jr. as a missionary to Germany at the age of 22 as her mother Curie had become a student missionary to U.S.A at the same age. He said that he would finally realize 6 months later that his daughter had left him, waking up in the middle of the night, asking “Where is Curie?” Yet he hoped and prayed that God may establish many happy and fruitful house churches.

There were wonderful music performances from many parts of the world during the reception at the center, and among them, the best was by the bride and bridegroom. May God bless them as the source of blessing for Europe and U.S.A.

M. Abraham Lee, the father of the bridegroom, gave glory to God and thanked God for this marriage. He especially thanked God for M. Grace A. Lee coming with her son Dr. Sam and her grandson Peter to make this marriage more meaningful. More than 250 guests from many parts of the world attended to bless the wedding after the Latin American/European Directors‘ Conference in Spain.
